This year, I'm helping out with The World Needs More Love Letters and their December letter writing campaign.
From December 3-14, The World Needs More Love Letters is rolling out its biggest, grandest, most festive love letter writing campaign of the year!
For the last 7 years, they’ve been putting a bow on the holiday season by rolling out 12 letter requests over a span of 12 days. That’s no joke… 12 days, 12 letter requests, and a whole lot of holiday cheer.
The 12 Days of Love Letter Writing is a perfect way for you to show up this season and help people in need around the world. Grab your friends or classmates, kids or students, and rally together to bring some goodwill into the world this December. All you need is some stationery and a few stamps.
If you want to help out with the other letters, all of the letter requests are posted on the More Love Letters blog. Write one letter or submit a note to all 12 bundles! The choice is yours! All letters should be postmarked by December 20, 2017. Your love letters will be bundled up with other letters from across the world and delivered by the new year!
So pour some hot cocoa, pull out your most festive cards, and get writing!
Today I am highlighting a letter request sent in from a friend of K's.
They wrote:
"I’ve known K since freshman year of high school. We played soccer together and became fast friends. Earlier this summer, K’s dad died of suicide. It was devastating for her family, their friends, and those who knew him. K is a loving, compassionate, and wonderful human being. She’s smart (finishing up her last year of law school) and going places. It would mean the world to her to receive love letters, especially from those who have experienced a similar trauma. I think K needs some love from this universe, and what better way than in the form of a love letter?"
Help us do just that this holiday season + respond to K’s story with love, and in solidarity if possible.
