Amy Carmichael - "If" Quote

"If . . .  I am content to heal a hurt slightly, saying 'Peace, peace,' where is no peace; if I forget the poignant word 'Let love be without dissimulation' and blunt the edge of truth, speaking not right things but smooth things, then I know nothing of Calvary love."

What I'm Reading This Week - June 24

This week has not been quite as busy for me.  I was able to finish reading Think by John Piper.
I also came across this article that was quite insightful: The 5 Most Annoying Questions Freelance Writers Get Asked.  As a freelance translator, I could definitely identify with some of them.  :)

Have a great weekend!

Amy Carmichael - "If" Quote

"If . . .  I am afraid to speak the truth, lest I lose affection, or lest the one concerned should say, 'You do not understand,' or because I fear to lose my reputation for kindness; if I put my own good name before the other's highest good, then I know nothing of Calvary love."

What I'm Reading This Week - June 17

This has been another busy week for me, and once again I haven't done a whole lot of reading. I've been helping out with my church's vacation Bible time as well as doing some more freelance translation work.  And, that's where most of my week went!

I do a little bit of book reading. Mostly, I just continued reading Think by John Piper.  I hope to have more of an update and some more links for you next week.

Enjoy your weekend!

Amy Carmichael - "If" Quote

"If . . .  I can hurt another by speaking faithfully without much preparation of spirit, and without hurting myself far more than I hurt that other, then I know nothing of Calvary love."

What I'm Reading This Week - June 10

This has been a busy week for me, and I haven't done a whole lot of reading online. I've been doing some freelancing translation work that has been fun, but it also took up a good portion of my time this week.

I did get to do a little bit of book reading, however. I finished Filling up the Afflictions of Christ by John Piper, and I started reading Think by John Piper and The Pythagorean Theorem by Eli Maor.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Amy Carmichael - "If" Quote

"If . . .  I cannot keep silence over a disappointing soul (unless for the sake of that soul's good or for the good of others it be necessary to speak), then I know nothing of Calvary love."

"Set Our Faces like Flint"

"And let us resolve to set our faces like flint on the path of obedience and never turn back. And with a full grasp of the possible cost before us, and with full courage because of Christ, let us walk softly to every unreached people that remains."
