Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens. Your faithfulness endures to all generations; you have established the earth, and it stands fast. By your appointment they stand this day, for all things are your servants. If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
(Psalm 119:89-92, ESV)
God's word is forever - nothing can change it. And His faithfulness is likewise. Continue in His word and delight yourself in it, lest you perish in your affliction.
I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life. I am yours; save me, for I have sought your precepts. The wicked lie in wait to destroy me, but I consider your testimonies. I have seen a limit to all perfection, but your commandment is exceedingly broad.
(Psalm 119:93-96, ESV)
God's word is my lifeline. Apart from it, I cannot live; I fall prey to my enemies. But through it - through His power - I live, I am saved, I am rescued. Praise be unto the Lord my God!

Simply Trust God's Word
My soul longs for your salvation; I hope in your word. My eyes long for your promise; I ask, “When will you comfort me?” For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I have not forgotten your statutes. How long must your servant endure? When will you judge those who persecute me?
(Psalm 119:81-84, ESV)
When all else gives way and fails, God's word is still there. Simply trust it. Trust His word.
The insolent have dug pitfalls for me; they do not live according to your law. All your commandments are sure; they persecute me with falsehood; help me! They have almost made an end of me on earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts. In your steadfast love give me life, that I may keep the testimonies of your mouth. (Psalm 119:85-88, ESV)
Contrast between the relationships of the wicked and the righteous to God's word:
The wicked:
- do not follow God's law
- persecute the righteous wrongfully
- almost consume the righteous
The righteous:
- regard God's commandments as faithful
- seek and can ask for God's help
- do not forsake God's precepts
- are quickened according to God's loving kindness
- keep God's testimonies

God's School of Learning
Your hands have made and fashioned me; give me understanding that I may learn your commandments. Those who fear you shall see me and rejoice, because I have hoped in your word. I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me. Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.
(Psalm 119:73-76, ESV)
God the Almighty Creator made me and because of that, I am now enrolled in His school of learning. Learning His commandments. Learning to fellowship with those who fear Him. Learning His righteous judgments. Learning through afflictions. Learning of His merciful kindness.
Let your mercy come to me, that I may live; for your law is my delight. Let the insolent be put to shame, because they have wronged me with falsehood; as for me, I will meditate on your precepts. Let those who fear you turn to me, that they may know your testimonies. May my heart be blameless in your statutes, that I may not be put to shame! (Psalm 119:77-80, ESV)
Delight yourself in God's word, meditate upon it, and ask God to let your heart be sound in it. Then, God's tender mercies will come unto you, the proud and the opposers will be ashamed, and those who fear the Lord will come to you.

Hold Fast to God's Word
You have dealt well with your servant, O Lord, according to your word. Teach me good judgment and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.
(Psalm 119:65-68, ESV)
When you walk according to God's word, you will realize that it is good, for it will go well with you as God keeps His word. You will also realize that it is the source of good judgment and knowledge. It will also keep you on God's way. Obey His word, keep His statutes, and you will never stray.
The insolent smear me with lies, but with my whole heart I keep your precepts; their heart is unfeeling like fat, but I delight in your law. It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn your statutes. The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces. (Psalm 119:69-72, ESV)
Hold fast to God's word and obey it even though the proud slander and have no concept of spiritual things (which is probably partly why they do slander the righteous). Have this outlook on trials, whatever they may be: "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your statutes." Remember that your Heavenly Father is working all things together for good since you love God and are called according to His purpose. Cherish God's word and His commandments more than anything else. It will be your stay through all your life.

Keep His Word. Trust His Word
The Lord is my portion; I promise to keep your words. I entreat your favor with all my heart; be gracious to me according to your promise. When I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies; I hasten and do not delay to keep your commandments.
(Psalm 119:57-60, ESV)
God is my portion, my all in all, the One Who satisfies me, the only One Who can satisfy me. Therefore, I must walk in His testimonies and commandments. I must keep His word.
Though the cords of the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law. At midnight I rise to praise you, because of your righteous rules. I am a companion of all who fear you, of those who keep your precepts. The earth, O Lord, is full of your steadfast love; teach me your statutes! (Psalm 119:61-64, ESV)
When surrounded by the wicked - trust His word. In the middle of the night - trust His word. When among good, godly Christian friends - trust His word. Great is His mercy - trust His word.
