See Amid the Winter's Snow

See, amid the winter's snow,
born for us on earth below,
see the tender Lamb appears,
promised from eternal years.

Hail! Thou ever-blessed morn!
Hail, redemption's happy dawn!
Sing through all Jerusalem,
"Christ is born in Bethlehem."

Lo, within a manger lies
He who built the starry skies;
He, who throned in height sublime,
sits amid the cherubim!

Say, ye holy shepherds, say,
what your joyful news today;
wherefore have ye left your sheep
on the lonely mountain steep?

"As we watched at dead of night,
lo, we saw a wondrous light;
angels singing 'Peace on earth'
told us of the Savior's birth."

Sacred Infant, all divine,
what a tender love was Thine;
thus to come from highest bliss
down to such a world as this!

Teach, O teach us, Holy Child,
by Thy face so meek and mild,
teach us to resemble Thee
in Thy sweet humility!

30-Day Giving Challenge 2020 - Week 5

"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought; and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."
- G.K. Chesterton

I am thankful this year to be able to take time to focus on being grateful. I'm also enjoying being able to purposefully focus on giving to others. Here are some of the opportunities I had this past week.

Tuesday - helped with a local prayer meeting
Wednesday - bought some items for strangers from the hashtag on twitter, #ShareYourWishList
Thursday - donated to my local food shelf
Friday - donated to my local Red Kettle
Saturday - shared a virtual coffee gift card with some friends
Sunday - donated to Book Aid International’s effort to help rebuild the library in Mosul
Monday - donated to aid relief in Central America

I've enjoyed taking extra time during November to focus on others. I'm thankful for the opportunities I've had to hopefully make someone's day just a little brighter. As we move into December may you know the joy that this season brings.

What opportunities have you had to give? I know some of my opportunities have been rather repetitive (especially this week). However, with the restrictions in my state regarding social interactions because of the coronavirus, I have been somewhat limited this year in what I have been able to do. If you need some ideas, check out this Pinterest board.
