O Come, Thou Wounded Lamb of God

O come, thou wounded Lamb of God;
Come, wash us in thy cleansing blood!
Give us to know thy love, then pain
Is sweet, and life or death is gain.

Take our poor hearts, and let them be
For ever closed to all but thee;
Seal thou our breasts, and let us wear
That pledge of love for ever there.

How can it be thou heavenly King,
That thou should man to glory bring!
Make slaves the partners of thy throne,
And give them an immortal crown!

Ah, Lord! enlarge our scanty thought;
To know the wonders thou hast wrought;
Unloose our stammering tongues to tell
Thy love immense, unsearchable.

First-born of many brethren, thou,
To thee both earth and heaven must bow;
Help us to thee our all to give,
Thine may we die, thine may we live!

Nests Above the Abyss by Isobel Kuhn

I recently finished reading Nests Above the Abyss by Isobel Kuhn.
Here are some quotes that stood out to me.

"Blessed Christ, who brings emancipation to women of all lands!"
(Kindle edition, location 548)

"Whatever the color of our skin we all had the same testimony, the same experience. As the flames leaped up, every face stood out clear and shining with joy, and as it waned, shadows stole forth and framed their faces softly."
(Kindle edition, location 1243)
