Goals for 2025
- Writing: I was hoping to move forward with my first children’s book as well as work on two German-to-English translation projects.
- Reading: read a total of 52 books
How did I do?
- Reading: I exceeded my reading goal this year: I read 111 books!

- Writing:
Project 1: A children’s book on Harold and Heather. I have talked a bit about this project before, but in 2024, I was finally able to finish my first draft of the story. During 2025, this project took a backseat, but I’m hopeful that I may have found an illustrator. More details to come soon!
Project 2: I published all three parts of my Melanchthon translation project on my blog. You can also get all three parts of Melanchthon’s German Catechism in one Kindle book.
Project 3: I’ve started translating Johannes Tauler’s sermons from German into English. You can read the ones I’ve shared already on my blog. https://becausehelives.blogspot.com/search/label/Tauler

Goals for 2026
- Writing: I have four writing projects in the works for 2026.
Project 1: A children’s book on Harold and Heather. During 2025, this project took a backseat, but I’m hopeful that I may have found an illustrator. More details to come soon!
Project 2: I started translating Johannes Tauler’s sermons from German into English in 2025 and posted the first four on my blog. I’ll be posting more of them in 2026.
Project 3: I am currently in the process of editing a book featuring contributions from several different authors. I plan to share more specific details about the project and its release as things progress further down the road.
Project 4: I am pleased to announce that I will be releasing my first book of poetry later this year. I look forward to sharing further details about the collection as the launch date approaches.
- Reading: My plan is to read a total of 52 books this year. This was my goal for 2025, and I like it as a goal for 2026.
How about you? Any reading or writing goals for 2026?
